The most amazing railway event to be held in Otago? Well it could well be, a Vulcan Railcar - Rm 56, English Electric Dg 772, Mitsubishi Dj 1209
& friends, and a Steam Loco - Ab 663 all came together to celebrate 130 years since the first sod was turned for the Otago Central Railway.
The Taieri Gorge Railway really put on a fine display, with the visiting locomotives, railcar and rolling stock. The highlight for most was seeing the Vulcan Railcar 'at home' in Central Otago. - It was so real! There was little to give it away that it wasn't 1969!

and gatherings as well as excursions traveled on or chased.
A project I have been working on with the Federation of Rail Organisations of New Zealand (FRONZ) has been the New Zealand Rolling Stock Register, since about 2001-2002 I had been compiling my own list of preserved rolling stock in New Zealand, then in June 2006 I was nominated to be the NZ convenor of Rolling Stock for FRONZ.
